Marc Farre

Electrical and computer engineering student at UC Davis

I work on industrial controls, automation and software development. At Linde, a global industrial gases and engineering company, I upgraded a live SCADA system and built tools for controls engineers. I previously worked with Siemens Digital Industries on factory automation and industrial data systems in Bangkok.

I’m looking for an electrical or controls engineering internship. I’m based in San Diego and Davis, California.

Experience

Electrical / Controls Engineering Intern

Linde Gas Pittsburg, California May 2026–present

I upgraded the eight-node SCADA environment at a Linde plant and now maintain it alongside tools for configuration, alarm analysis and controls requests. A Python tool I built reduced a GE iFIX node setup from the four-to-six-hour procedure to under 30 minutes.

Electrical / Automation Engineering Intern

Siemens Digital Industries Bangkok, Thailand June–December 2025

I built secure connections between factory equipment and data tools, and worked on PLC communication, certificate management and a model for estimating sugar-batch duration.

Selected projects

Node Builder

Python GE iFIX

Automates the 19-step setup for four types of plant nodes, with backups, pre-flight checks and hash verification.

SCADA Alarm Analyzer

Python ISA-18.2

An offline tool for reviewing iFIX alarm logs. It analyzed 81,443 events across 13 days and identified one tag responsible for a third of them.
